Testimonials
What Our Students & Parents Say

We are so grateful to be a part of Nitya Natyashale. Both my daughter and I have had an incredible experience here. Mrs Shilpa Ashok our Guru is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable, bringing a wealth of experience to each class. We look forward to continuing our journey here and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone interested in learning Bharatanatyam. Thank you Shilpa

Ms. Shilpa is an excellent Bharatanatyam teacher—kind, patient, and yet very disciplined with her students. My daughter and I have been part of Nitya Natyashale for the past year, and it has been an incredibly enriching experience for both of us. If you're looking for a place to cultivate your love for classical dance and challenge yourself to excel, Nitya Natyashale is the perfect choice. I highly recommend this academy to anyone passionate about classical dance. Thank you, Shilpa, for being such a wonderful teacher!

When my mum asked if I wanted to learn Bharatanatyam, I wasn’t sure at first, but I was eager to try something new. I embarked on this incredible journey with Guru Shilpa Ashok, who is not only a brilliant teacher but also my Athe (Aunt), in June 2022. Since then, I have been excited to learn new dance steps and progress to more complex moves. Over time, I have come to truly enjoy this beautiful dance form. Athe creates a warm and supportive environment while giving her students countless opportunities to showcase their talents. I vividly remember my first stage performance—I was incredibly nervous, but she gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed. Although I still experience stage fright at times, I always recall her encouraging words and make sure to give my best effort.
As a proud niece and student of Nitya Natyashale, I hope to continue improving and make her proud.

My journey with Nitya Natyasale so far has been nothing short of beautiful. I had a bit of Bharatanatyam background from my childhood days. So, when I joined the adult batch, all I was expecting was a form of exercise. However, it's offered a lot more. A special mention to all the lovely friends I have made through dance. Shilpa's teaching techniques are amazing. She is strict and gentle at the same time. She focuses on the posture and perfection of steps for each student. She tries to push us to go the extra mile when learning new steps but also makes sure that we don't over-exert. The practice for stage shows is a different experience altogether. Even though it involves a lot of work, it's also fun. Shilpa ensures that the balance is well maintained.
Shilpa, you are an amazing teacher. A heartfelt thanks for all the lovely opportunities you have given me to grow, and I am looking forward to more.
